Fence Murals · MuralFence

Light coverage · accent (least paint)

An ordinary wood fence just sits there gray. We turn it into a durable full-color artwork: UV art printed straight onto the boards, one seamless image across the whole fence.

MuralFence — working line name (Gravity LLC).

For the investor: a new category

Fence murals don't exist as a product yet. Whoever launches first owns the category. And it's easy to copy — so the window won't stay open long.

An empty niche

Today's 'printed fences' are temporary vinyl mesh for ads. Permanent art straight on wood is offered by almost no one.

The barrier is speed, not the machine

Anyone can buy the equipment. The winner is whoever first builds a portfolio, reviews and a deal flow.

The window is closing

Once the product takes off, copies appear within months. The first brand in a category is the one people remember.

This is a chance to create a new category and become its #1 brand — but only until someone else takes it.

Styles & techniques

Any artwork at a world-class level — full-color UV paint or CNC-milled into the wood, from a light accent to dense coverage. The fence surface stays smooth, with no visible sections.

How it works

1 · Select boards

Only dry, stable wood (redwood/cedar); warped boards are rejected.

2 · Sand

A flat matte surface with light tooth for ink adhesion.

3 · UV print

Artwork is split into tiles per board and printed in batches; UV inks cure straight onto the wood.

4 · Seal

An exterior UV-protective topcoat guards against sun fading.

5 · Assemble

Boards are installed in sequence — the image reassembles into one picture.

Product

Permanent full-color UV art (nature, abstract, family photo, brand/logo) printed directly onto wooden fence boards. The image is split across boards and reassembles into one picture on install.

Differentiator

A new category. Today's “printed fences” are temporary vinyl mesh for advertising. Permanent UV murals on real wood in the residential segment are offered by virtually no one.

Market

Sacramento metro ~2.4M, Bay Area ~7.7M. Base wood fence $45–55/ft installed; premium redwood $70–120/ft. Upsell from a 10% accent panel to a full two-sided mural.

Unit economics

A 100-linear-ft fence (600 ft² print): $18,000 decor revenue, $16,560 gross profit (~92% margin), ~$690 profit per print-hour. Break-even at just 273 ft²/mo.

Risk & damper

Demand for THIS product is unproven — plan: 2–3 pilot fences and photo cases before scaling. Damper: the printer is versatile and between fences earns on signage, ACM/acrylic, real-estate, custom wood and awards.
